Hi everyone:
I stumbled across this forum a couple of days ago. I recently acquired a beautiful red male betta fish. I am still learning a lot and right now I currently have him in a holding tank. He came from a home where the owners didn't change his water or anything, so I adopted him and they even gave me the money to purchase his own 10 gal tank. So anyways, I have him in his quarantine tank until his tank can cycle. I am monitoring his Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, etc...at least once a day. I am currently doing his cycling the fishless way.
I think he is taking his time getting out of his shyness phase. This is my first time owning a betta fish and being so thorough about it. I didn't know about the Nitrogen cycle or anything like that with the last fish I had; luckily, he lived about a year or year and a half. My new betta fish's name is Louis, in honor of Louis XVI of France. :lol:
