Meet Lupin the new kid. My question is what color would he be considered? He looks very purple in person.

Thank you! He's quite a pretty fish and appears quite purple in real life, but unfortunately it doesn't photograph super well. Here are a few more photos.

If you want further ID you could say a purple multicolor since he is mostly purple/lavender

He's actually not purple, there's no such thing as a "true" purple Betta along with a true green. It's rather a slight mix of steele blue and the red layer underneath but there's more than that; it's basically a trick of the eyes in the end. But yes, he still looks purple lol.

That's what I've been reading up on. I admit my genetic knowledge is not where it should be, but I keep bettas to admire. I imagine if I ever decide to breed I'll brush up on things more. :lol:

He's currently getting acclimated to his new home.
