New PetSmart beta needs a name

Hello everyone,

I know I haven't been on in ages, I have been adjusting to my new school and city. But I now have a new beta that I bought today at my local PetSmart.

He is a male VT, that is black on his head and front part of his body, with dark teal on his back, dorsal fin and tail head, and a dark garnet red on his pectoral fins and end of his tail.

But I was thinking of naming him something along the lines of astronomy and space because of his colors. All suggestions will be considered.

Borealis
Cosmos
Halo

Those are a few that I like.

He's beautiful.

The first name that came to mind is Orion, because that's my favorite constellation. But with the red coloration the name Betelgeuse (a red supergiant star in the constellation Orion) also seems to fit.

Pretty boy you've got there.

Before I even started this thread I was thinking of Cosmos as a name, but I'm liking Betelgeuse at the moment.

Thanks Lyricaraven, I really like his colors too. I was debating between him and a blue/white marble halfmoon. But I didn't have enough money on me for the halfmoon, so I got this guy instead. He was really active at the store and the healthiest looking one that I liked. I thought his color would be a nice change from the usual red and blue VT.

Wow he looks a bit like my arashi which means storm. My boy has a little less red, but can't believe how similar they look! Very handsome guy!

Orion's the first name that came to my mind too, that would be neat.
Polaris, Leo, Supernova (might be a smidge girly), Gemini, Vega?

Oh gosh more good names to consider. Vega is a really good sounding name, thanks for the suggestion Makoisland.

Now I'm torn between Vega and Betelguese.

Just to add to the confusion, what about Sirius? It is the brightest star in the night sky.
Or maybe Polaris, after the north star.

I think am going to go with Vega. Its short and it seems to fit him well. He's very active and is exploring his new home with a lot of enthusiasm. He's much more assertive than my last fish, and keeps checking all of the corners of the tank for intruders and chasing his reflection.

Not that I don't like Betelgeuse, Nebula, and Quasar. But Vega seems to be more appropriate for his personality (of the little I have seen). Thank you for all the suggestions I had a hard time deciding which one I thought would be best.

Any idea what color he might be or is Vega just a plain jane VT?

I named mine Charon. After Plutos moon.
