It's swimming odd, like theirs a big sack tearing through its stomach... Any ideas? It's a female and this occurred over a day. I feed it 6 pellets a day, 3 in the morning 3 at night. It looks like shes breathing heavily/ taking long deep breaths. Also it swims up for oxygen a lot more frequently

The sack is pink-ish by the way.

She's actually gone into a prolapse, likely of the intestines. This can happen to any fish and there's nothing you can do about it unfortunately. She should live on just fine, my friend has a Pearl Danio with a prolapsed anus that has been living near 6 months now just fine, in fact, she's alpha of the school too lol. Just keep her water clean and she may be okay. It's hard to tell sometimes, it really depends on what exactly has prolapsed from the body. From the look, it's either the bottom of the anus or the full intestines that are protruding now.

Yeah, it can happen to all animals unfortunately :-(

Mostly it comes from constipation which leads to pushing too hard to excrete waste and thus everything just kind of...comes out. Can happen to humans too, not exactly sure how we deal with it though lol. But with fish, you can't just push them back inside; it's torn away from the muscles that was keeping it inside previously.

OP, can you fill this form out just to see if there is anything that raises red flags for us so you can help your fish stay well?
