It looks ripped to me, probably on the plant. Keep your water clean, and it'll grow back. But, I would recommend getting silk plants instead.

I have some live plants sprouting. I'm going to replace the plastic ones with those. I'll tell you, this betta has been a learning experience! Thanks!
