Plant help? Roots... And Shedding onion plant?

One of my plants (some variety of sword plant) has had light brownish yellow roots that go downward. This plant is VERY green and lively, but I worry about the roots?

Also my onion plant's brown base is starting to shed. It appears healthy otherwise.

Should either of these be a concern?

When I see brown roots on my plants I usualy clip them off if you are getting alot then yeah I would worry. As for onion plants I cant help you there but some body else should know something.

if the root isnt mushy or dying you can usually ignore it
