Anyone know what my betta is? I bought him from petsmart (i know bad choice) but he was really healthy and i LOVED his white color. He seems to have a bit of shiny goldish scales around his head. As for his fins, I cant identify what he could be. Also excuse his fin tearing im not sure why its happening but Im going to look into it. Hes also semi- see through.

Hi and welcome. He's a lovely looking wee fella, and I can see he's got a nice tank to explore. Can't help too much in ID department as I only became a betta specific keeper this year, most of my fish knowledge is general species.
I would look into the plastic plants regarding the fin tear, may be a snaggy bit somewhere.

Im looking into getting rid of the plastics and going for silk/ silicone only soon. Hes a happy little fish! And its the same for me, ive looked at different species but still cant seem to figure it out, he seems to have the basic betta fins.
First, never apologize for buying at a PetSmart or PetCo. They have lovely Betta that are just as nice as many bought online. Your boy is but one example.

To know his caudal type would require a side shot of him flaring. A close-up would help determine if he is suffering damage from decor or biting.

He's a handsome boy. I know you will enjoy him.
