Pre-mix 3tso/gall Epsom salt in 1 gall jug. You can take a gall from spring water. Do 100% water change. Don't forget to put water conditioner. Do 100% water changes every day. Shake the gall make sure salt dissolved. When you change him try make water the same temperature he already in +-2*. You need to have thermometr. Get the one that you can stick outside of the tank. You can find it in the store. It the one that you can stick on outside of the tank.

Housing
What size is your tank? He was in a divided 10 gallon but he had less space since the other side has more fish. He is now in a container with 1 gallon of water.
What temperature is your tank? Its 71-73 degrees. Im going to get a heater tomorrow (any suggestions for a type?)
Does your tank have a filter? No (1gallon)
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No (remember this is the 1 gallon medical tank)
Is your tank heated? No but it will be tomorrow or the day after.
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? Currently, none. Before he was with a pleco.

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Hikari betta gold pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? Maybe like 3-4 pellets 2-3 times a day. He never gets bloated though :-? Ever since he got sick he hasnt been eating and the pellets would sink :-(

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? In the 10 gallon I did a wc every week. In the 1 gallon I do it everyday as I was told by the other member.
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? In the 10 gallon= 100% because it would get so filthy. In the 1 gallon= 100% as well.
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? 10 gallon= Tap water conditioner and I would usually put aq salt but I ran out of it and haven't got a chance so no aq salt for 2 weeks. 1 gallon= I have tap water conditioner (although i put spring water) and epsom salt.

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?N/A

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:
Hardness:
Alkalinity:

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? Fins clamped, slightly tilted when swimming, popeye (i think), and theres also this clear-ish film on his right eye.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? Not swimming much, but after i put epsom salt he's moving SLIGHTLY more.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? Yesterday when I was on the computer. I glanced at him and he was leaning on a leaf looking sick.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? I have put epsom salt in a 1 gallon with him.
Does your fish have any history of being ill? He has had bloat a few weeks after I got him. I believe that's it but I'm not 100%.
How old is your fish (approximately)? I got him in September and he looked pretty young so I think he's probably in between 1-2 years? Not sure.
Thanks everyone I hope we can find a way we can heal him!

Good you have him in the 1 gall hospital tank. You can lower the water so it easier for you to change the water and easier for him to swim up for the air.
3-4 pellets 2-3 times a day it way too too much. 2 pellets in the morning and 2 in the evening is more then enough. Sometimes i give them frozen dried blood worms instead of pellets in the morning. A lot of people give them live food which is also good.

Just keep doing 3 tsp/gall of Epsom salt with daily 100% water changes. You can use it for long time longer then 2 weeks so give the forum update. Make sure water the same tempe that he is already in +- 2*. You can pre mix some epsom salt in advance and let it sit. You can use it a few times. Then you can have some pre mix epsom salt that you can prepare 30-40 min bifore (warmer water). This way you can mix it and get the right temp.

Also i am not sure if you know about dropsy. Google it. If he is bloated and swim sideways make sure he is not pine coning. If you look at him from the top see if his scales raised? If you google betta dropsy you will see the picture you will know what i mean.

Good luck, give us update :)

Good luck with him!! Also, I feed 2 times a day, 3-4 pellets each time - but never any more - plus one day of good ol' fasting :) the epsom idea is one of the best, and it's one of the ones that can help with any internal problem your boy has!!

That's okay, if he doesn't eat right now. Here is a question - does he expel air bubbles from his gills and/or mouth?

love your signature xDD Many people do assume that younger = stupider. But that's discrimination. Research, and doing hands-on is the way to learn :)

I just went to the pet store and got some plants, more gravel, and another thermometer. I also got "2" snails but then realized the pretty one didnt have a snail. it was an empty shell . Refund!! Lol. I didnt have enough left for a heater for Rainbow but next week ill get it. Any suggestions for an adjustable heater that I can have in a 1 gallon medical tank?
