Your photos are not very clear. Does it look anything like this:

Scratching his head on things is usually a sign that he has ich, which is usually easy to treat. I'd recommend starting an AQ salt treatment, unless it is progressing really quickly.

Sorry he moves around so much it's hard to get a good picture. I will buy the AQ salt treatment today. Not really it's more just white patches only on his head.

Yes, AQ salt is usually a good safety net. 10 days max. 100% changes every day, 1tsp per gallon. You may want to take out your gravel and decor since it's a pain to have when you have to change the water daily. Just say if it starts getting worse and I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will have an idea..
Are they growing quickly?

Also, I just noticed your water changes are really lacking. This is most likely why he got sick.
For an unfiltered 2.5 gallon, you should be doing 1 50% change and 1 100% change every week :)

Poor Betta I didn't realise that or I would have been changing his tank as you said. Well I will from now on until I can get a filter. And I will use the salt as you said. It doesn't seem to be spreading too quickly but I will say if it does. Thank you so much for your help. :)
