My favorite betta is sick, please help me! I'm trying to determine whether the culprit is most likely bacterial, parasitic, or fungal so if I have to resort to meds I choose correctly and don't waste time. And there are a lot of variables to sort thru.

This is a long story, and I can provide details, but the short question is this:
Ragged fins (not cottony, in fact at first I thought he was tail-biting but it's all over now) and 1 cloudy, very slightly swollen eye.

Behavior is normal, eating is normal.

Multiple things (bacteria, fungus, parasite) can cause either one of these symptoms from what I can find... But the 2 together- is it more likely to be one particular organism since they are occuring together?

Im trying to get people's thoughts in case I need to resort to a medication, I need to know which one to target-

Thanks! I have 14 bettas but i've never connected to one as much as i've connected to this one- i'm praying water changes do the trick

I'm not an expert so I can't really diagnose, but make sure he has clean warm water to swim in. Before you try any medication, you should start a salt treatment.
