So, I have an orange double tail male named Rocket Zombie {dont ask} who recently seemed to be ill.

He has a filtered 3 gallon tank, no heater because I feel it is not nessacary where I live, and I just can't seem to find out why he is so lethargic.

I put him into a hospital cup, so I can watch him closely, and he is just lying at the bottom. Sometimes I'll give the cub a TINY shake so we would stay up- just incase- and then he would finally go up to the top to breath before he fell back down again.

I can't do a water test, because my mom took my car to drive my brother to the airport and I don't have the equipment.

Please help! He wont eat and needs my help to get to the top to breath.

Can you post pictures? Do you have more detailed information of his symptoms? How long has this been going on? That isn't much information to try and diagnose on.

How often do you change the water? What do you add to the water when you change it? Do you know the temperature of the water? It would help if you could answer the following questions as well:

What size is your tank?
What temperature is your tank?
Does your tank have a filter?
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration?
Is your tank heated?
What tank mates does your betta fish live with?

What type of food do you feed your betta fish?
How often do you feed your betta fish?

How often do you perform a water change?
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change?
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change?

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

When did you start noticing the symptoms?
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how?
