I've always loved the look of a rim-colored betta (like the blue rim in my profile picture). I know these have the jumping gene and the color will eventually change. Sadly I never got to watch the completion of mine, as he swam into a piece of cholla wood meant for the shrimp and drowned (though it happened long ago, this still devastates me to this day).

I was wondering if other people with rim bettas could show their progression pictures of how their fish marbled over time?

Are they stable from the get-go or do they 'arrive' at this pattern at some point?

I was told by a breeder that that bettas like blue rims are considered marbled, or have the jumping gene (don't recall which I was told). Usually when I see one, they have some blue on their bodies. Mine started off very clean, but eventually did start getting more blue on his body.

If there are stable ones, I'd love to have one (though I have no room at this point).
