Hi all, one of my boys has serious fin rot (see below.) and I just had a quick question regarding treatment! Right now, I'm dosing with Seachem Steess Guard (on the suggestions of a fellow betta owner.) daily but I was wondering if you could also add aquarium salt? It's been three days and so far I haven't seen regrowth.

The biggest thing you can do is maintain good water quality. What size is the tank and how often do you do water changes?
Doing water changes often, keeping the temp. at 80-82*F, and feeding a (good!)high-protein pellet all will help him rebuild his fins.
To answer your question, you can add aquarium salt for about a week to help with healing. Do you know how to add it without possibly stressing the fish?

He's in a filtered, heated 3 gallon. My temps are up at about 80 degrees constantly with 50% water changes weekly. I'm not sure if that's enough? I'm dosing with Seachem Stress Guard and adding salt. In this particular water change (I just finished one!) I just added the salty water in with the new water and let it sit a bit. His params are all normal and I'm feeding Omega One Betta Buffet!

Good, I would bump the water changes up to twice weekly 50% change. I do that for my 10 gallon currently lol.
