The quick answer is: Yes. They sort of bump each other, then do a wiggle, and then he will embrace her. You can see all of this on youtube....

Thanks peeps, I watched a few videos about spawning before but they kind of cut and pasted so it wasn't such a long video. They must have missed that. That's exactly what they're doing. Also, feel like such an idiot I found that the condensation on the top lid to my breeding tank was dripping water onto the nest. I thought it was the female destroying it.
