Anyone got any ideas what this is? My Betta has some fin rot so unsure if it's linked but can't quite work out what this is.
Are you saying you only use quick start?Housing:
How many gallons is your tank? 1.6 as in quarantine tank. Was in a 4 gallon tank before.
Does it have a filter? Yes.
Does it have a heater? Yes.
What temperature is your tank? 79F
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? Bubble machine.
Does your Betta have tank mates? What kind? None.
Food:
What food brand do you use? Tetra
Do you feed flakes or pellets? Flake
Freeze-dried? No
How often do you feed your Betta? How much? Small pinch twice a day, but he's hardly eating them.
Maintenance:
Before your Betta became ill how often did you perform a water change? Weekly.
What percentage of water did you change? 30%
What is the source of your water? Tap
Do you vacuum the substrate or just dip out water? Vacuum
What additives do you use other than conditioner? What brand of conditioner? Api tap safe, apologise quick start
Water Parameters:
What are your water parameters? Please give exact numbers. If tested by pet store please get exact numbers. "Fine" or "Safe" won't help us help you. Important: Test your water before the regular water change; not after one.
Ammonia: unknown due to full water change for quarantine and medication
Nitrite: as above

Symptoms and Treatment:
When did you first notice the symptoms? For the red blob I've asked after today, for the fin rot 6 weeks ago but aware this has been picked up very late (not my fish)

How has your Betta’s behavior changed? Doesn't eat and pretty certain he has swim bladder
Is your Betta still eating? Rarely

How long have you owned your Betta? Since June 2020

That's what was being done in the main tank. He's now a quarantine with daily 100% changes.In a 1.6 gallon, you need to do more water changes. 30% water change weekly isn't enough...
I copied and pasted this from Oldfishlady's water change recommendations.
1-4gal with a filter
Twice weekly-1-50% water only and 1-50% with substrate cleaning by vacuum or stir and dip method.
Filter media needs a swish/rinse in old tank water a couple of times a month.
You might want to do more because he has fin rot.
