I've had my platies in with my Betta for a couple of days now, and the females have adjusted nicely. However, the male still seems really nervous. Most of the time, he kind of just hovers behind plants and when he does come out, he's very cautious. He will occasionally swim around with the other platies and act normal, but then will go back to hiding again. My betta has stopped harassing him now ( he actually swims around with the females like he's one of them) but the male platy is still antisocial. He doesn't seem to have his fins clamped, but he doesn't seem to be getting food (by the time he gets up there, the females and the betta have gotten it all). I try to give him some more when he's up there, but he just swims off before I get the chance and hides. Should I separate him for feedings until he gets used to the tank? Is he sickly or just taking a while to adjust?
Any help would be appreciated! I'm new to tropical fish :)
