I am about to start up a 10g planted tank, and I have done all my research but am still curious about trumpet snails... I have heard they reproduce asexually... is this true? and if I use gravel as my cap, will they have problems burrowing down into the soil because of it? is sand better for MTS's?

also, are there any other kinds of snails that would aid in the aeration of the soil for the first few months?

ive never actualy had any, but ive heard that they only burrow an half inch or so, so they dont really help that much, so i would suggest using a chopstick (or something) to poke the soil for the first few months to release any air bubbles.that is what i do.
