It looks nice, but there is a lot of water movement. Doesn't that bother him?

I think the size is perfect. My only concerns are the filter output and the plants. Sometimes the current that the filter creates can become an issue for betta. There are DIY filter flow adjusters you can make (I use this with great results: http://www.petfish.net/kb/entry/347/). And adding lots more plants can help break up the current. My guys LOVE silk plants.
