So i've had my betta fish, Lebron, for almost 2 months. He's so friendly & energetic. To my understanding, betta fish were very lazy & boring. But Lebron is the complete opposite! He swims around ALL day, greets me everytime i come in the room & even sleeps at the corner of his tank near my bed.

But, recently, i've been noticing a complete change in his personality. He no longer swims around. He stays at the top, completely still & just blows little bubbles. He doesn't have an appetite anymore & won't eat the food i put in.

At first i thought he was dying. Then, i read a little about his symptoms & because i typed bubbles, all this information about Bubble Nests came up. Only thing is, his bubbles don't stay. Usually if they blow bubbles it means they're happy & healthy. But he doesn't look happy at all. He looks really depressed.

Tips, comments, concerns, help.. All that is much appreciated. Thanks :)

I had a betta named Lebron before.. It's nice that people like that name. :D

When do you do water changes? Temperature? Tank size? Tank mates?

Also, bubblenests don't mean they're happy or healthy.. It's an instinct they have to protect territory or "ready to breed". Bubblenests are groups of bubbles, obviously. You're probably seeing the side effect of breathing from the surface; they expel oxygen once they take in some more.

I do water changes once a week bc it's a fairly small tank. His bubble's don't stay. They pop shortly after he makes them. They stay for only a few seconds. There are no other fish in the tank with him.
