I'm thinking about redecorating my betta tanks to go for a more natural look. I've seen a lot of people with driftwood and such in their betta tanks, but I'm afraid it won't be safe for my fishes.
Couldn't it tear their fins? How can I go about decorating safely with wood?

Driftwood is good.

After Reading something about my Pleco, I got a piece of it for his tank. I will tell you its smoother then most rocks, and if done correctly is safe for your fish. Don't get a piece covered in chemicals (sealers), get as fresh of a piece as you can and soak it. Soak it for about three weeks to a month changing the water daily to remove all the chemicals and dyes before adding it to your tank. Firmly plant it when you do finally put it in, as they tend to be heavy and can, if not planted, fall over and kill innocent fish. Careful with your PH, as driftwood can slightly lower the tanks PH.
