I am seriously wondering if Romeo is still young or if he is a female. How can I tell the difference of the sexes? He is a small delta tail

he appears to look male, female has eggspots, it is the white dot on there belly. and the male's "beards" show even without flaring, a beard is the black area in the gills. and males tend to have a bigger span at flaring then females do. and males build bubble nest, some females do to though

I see a male. How old is he, and does he have an egg spot?

If he is a she, she should have an ovipistor...

His fins are fairly short.. Here is my female veiltail... Really not much different than yours, only older...

Maybe he is just a sweet little guy?

Juvenile males sometimes have oviposters too.

OP: he looks male to me. The anal fin is really pointy, not rectangular the way a female's is.
I just worry since he never flares and is TERRIFIED of everything.
