I was rinsing a 20g tank in my bath tub. I wanted to let it soak because it's been empty in my basement for years collecting dust. My two year old son wanted to help clean the fish home and poured some shampoo in the water to make bubbles.

Is this tank now unusable? How should I go about cleaning out all the soap residue?

warm or hot water, several rinsing, and plain white vinegar! I always rinse down new tanks with a diluted vinegar hot water solution.

Ok lol then I'm on the right tack. I'm sure my boyfriend is thrilled that he has to move my tank every time he showers but I'm not moving it until I know all the soap is gone!!
