Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I have been browsing all of the information to be found on this wonderful site, and it's highly possible that I missed what the description for what this is, and how to treat it..

Okay. So I've gone to the local petco twice and I've seen this betta. He's gorgeous, he seems healthy and active, BAR. But he's got a very noticable issue that is worrying me about my decision to bring him home. (the other side of the coin is that I'd want to bring him home to try to fix him..)

Anyways, I'll post a picture of it so if anyone has any ideas.. I'm all ears! =)
PS. Sorry for the horrible quality.. my blackberry doesn't take the most amazing pictures in the world. But you can still clearly see the glaring white thing on his side. it's only on this side, in that one spot, and the scales appear raised and thicker/swollen than the rest of his scales.

Sorry, my first post wasn't very clear. The white spot on his side.. it's a cluster of scales that seem to be swollen outwards. Whatever it is it doesn't look normal.

My plakat had that when I got him a few weeks ago, I brought him home and after a couple of days in good water condition it went away. I'm not sure what it is though.

it COULD be a tumor. it could be nothing. if you could get a better picture of it, it'd help alot. he seems pretty happy and healthy, despite that..... thing. x: i say, just keep his water clean and warm, and see how he does. :V

So I brought home this guy today. He's slowly staring to settle down.

I got a better picture of him while he was still at the store so everyone could see what his white spot looks like, in higher detail.

It looks like just a splash of white scales. My Charlie has this one spot that is an intense blue.
