My Siamese Fighting Fish, Fritz, has been acting really weird lately. He is about a year old but he has just be laying around, not swimming, just upright and sitting there. He is not dead but he looks really weak. He will eat but only a little at feeding time. What should I do?

What size tank is he in?

Is the tank filtered & heated?

How often & how much of the water do you change?

What kind (brand) of food are you feeding?
he is in a small bowl, not sure how big, i clean it whenever it gets foggy (usually about a week and a half) and i feed him every other day
with omega one betta buffet.
I would give suggestions, but it would be pretty long, lol

I would recommend you read the sticky and use that information. Sounds like hes underfed, cold, possibly in too small of a bowl (depending on what you consider "small") and could have high ammonia in the bowl. Read the sticky, its got wonderful info and will make your fish feel much better. :)

If he is in a small bowl, his water needs to be changed every other day. Probably 100% water changes. I can understand every three days, but a week and a half is way too long. Ammonia will build up (created by your fish's waste) if you don't and will kill your fish (Which I suspect may be happening now). I assume it isn't heated or filtered? Bettas are healthiest at about 76-82F. If this bowl is under a gallon, I would consider finding your betta a bigger bowl. He'll be much happier and healthier, I promise ;-)
