So I have one small little female betta in a 1 gallon plastic bowl. She has been in there for awhile but now Im starting to notice that there is a slimey substance on the top of her water. I thought at first it must be because she was in plastic and the plastic might have melted into the water or something. So I switched her into a 1 gallon glass bowl. I didnt see any of the slimey stuff anymore until this morning. All she has in their is some gravel, a heater and a mini cave like thing. IDK wat it is...any ideas??

It's just a natural bio film. All tanks with little water movement at the top (meaning... all betta tanks) have it. It's harmless. It'll go away when you do your water changes and come back the next day, lol.

Yup, just a build up of protein.
Keep up with your 2x weekly water changes (1 50%, 1 100%) for that size of a tank, and in between if needed, use a paper towel to scoop out the protein slime.
It won't harm the betta, but sometimes if it gets too thick it will make it a little harder to breathe at the surface.
