Something is wrong with my betta...

670 Views 20 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  dizzydreamerJEN
Hello... I just literally got a new betta, his name is Teddy. He came from Illinois to NYC... The thing is I notice he got something very weird on him. I think he got hurt. Can you guys please help me out? To see what he got. And if there anything I can do for him. Thank you. Sorry for my horrible grammar, I'm scared and can't really concentrate. I attached a picture of him, again thank you in advance.

Do you mean the whitish splotch on his back/side? It's hard to tell because the picture is small. Is it just discolored, or is there an actual wound there?
Sorry for the small pic... There's an actual wound there.

I just got him like an hour ago he came from Illinois. He was like that. I'm trying to get in contact with the person I bought him from...

Oh and hello my fellow New Yorker. :D
oh okay :)

Did you acclimate him before you put him in the tank?
Yes. I spoke to the lady that sold him to me she said that he got stress on his way here, cause when she took off his tank he looked very upset.

ok. Im sure he'll be okay. Just keep an eye on him.
yes i will, and thank you for replying back.
They like to pout sometimes. He'll be great. Gorgeous little guy.
You need to post your question in the Betta Diseases and Emergencies Section as his what appears to be a wound that care and someone will have suggestions.

Answer the questions in the sticky in that section.

Thank you very much. :)
This happened to my little guy as well. I panicked and so I just swapped him, but I really hope your little guy gets better - his colouring and tail is gorgeous! Good luck with him :)
You could put some Stress Coat on him if you're worried.

He's a pretty one!

For future ref, there's actually a specific section of the forum for threads about sick or injured bettas; your post will get more attention there, should you need to use it.
Is that white splotch not just coloration?

Boy, was that a convoluted sentence!

Whenever you have a sick Betta or one with wounds, you need to post in the Diseases and Emergecies section. You'll likely receive more immediate attention and specific advice. Myexplodingcat said it much better than I.

I could be wrong, but it's my opinion you'll have to add something along with the StressCoat to cure an open wound. Won't hurt my feelings if someone disagrees.

BTW, did you send the seller a photo?

Do I just pass this to the disease section or create a new one? Yes I did, and she said he got stress on his way to me, that it should go away in a few days once he get used to his new environment.
