I don't know about the filters but you could add a few more girls in there. maybe 2 to 4? depending on if it will only be them. There is usually less agression the more girls you get. It's a good tank choice my sorority is in a 10gal top fin. I wonder how long the slim filters are? The Top fin doesn't usually give a lot of room for filters other than the regular hang ons. If it's a kit it should come with a filter.

What's wrong with the filters? I'm kind of leaning toward the internal one. I don't really think anything is wrong with them. It's actually nice looking. I was curious if they were long or the length of a regular filter. I have never seen a filter like that one.
My number one first choice for any filter would be the Aquaclear 20 or similar products (such as Fluval C5). The different components of these filters are kept separate so you don't have to worry about buying new cartridges every month. Instead, you only have to change the carbon every month or never because activated carbon is not necessary in keeping bettas. The Aquaclear is really quiet and the original price of $20 really pays off in the long run.
I used to have a turtle so I used the Tetra Whisper filter, and it was a good filter but I can't really comment because I wasn't the main caretaker. As I mentioned before, most filters require cartridges every month and that was the case with this filter. Same thing with the Marina slim filter.
When I went to PetSmart to get my 20 gallon tank, I originally meant to get this one but I didn't like the way it looked in real life. The hood just seemed to plastic and dingy to me. So I instead went with the Marineland LED 20 aquarium. It came with a heater, Bio-Wheel filter, and other stuff too so it was a steal at $90. I ended up selling the heater for about $20, so it was worth it.

I think you could put 8-10 females in that tank. It seems really big. But you should go for the 20 gallon LONG tanks. Not the normal ones.

Oh, and I forgot to add. I have a 20 gallon betta sorority and I keep 5 female bettas in there. Even though I could potentially have maybe 10 bettas in there, I don't because I want each one of my bettas to have a beautiful habitat with tons of hiding spots and to have their own territory without having to see each other all the time if they don't want to. And, I get to know each one of their personalities better. Plus, I only have to do 15% water changes once a week. XD

hmm, I may check those filters out. I like that. You wouldn't have to have them way away from the wall. I think the amount of females depends on preference. Some like less some like more. I like more because I have seen less agression as with a lesser amount. It's all about what you want.

I've heard the same thing too, but the minimum for a sorority is 4-5 females. I've also heard that odd number of female bettas work better in a sorority but I doubt there is any scientific evidence backing that statement up.
But then again, the number of female bettas you can keep in your tank is mostly based on your personal opinion and how you want to go about keeping your bettas. If a disease breaks out and most of your females get infected, do you have 10 (1 gallon or more) spare tanks or containers to spare? Would you rather carry a heavy bucket a few times (my bucket is only 3 gallons) or once? And for me, the aggression only lasted less than a week and now they almost never bite each other.

I've never had a fluval heater, so I can't comment . . . As long as the filter is 100-watts, you should be fine.
