Pudge, my betta, needs some serious help!!

How many gallons is your tank?
5 gallons
Does it have a filter?
Does it have a heater?
What temperature is your tank?
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration?
Does your Betta have tank mates? What kind?

What food brand do you use?
Tetra bettamin
Do you feed flakes or pellets?
How often do you feed your Betta? How much?
Twice a day, 4-5 pellets

Before your Betta became ill how often did you perform a water change?
Once weekly
What percentage of water did you change?
What is the source of your water? Tap
Do you vacuum the substrate or just dip out water?
Dip out
What additives do you use? What brand of conditioner?
Top fin water conditioner

Symptoms and Treatment:
When did you first notice the symptoms?

How has your Betta’s appearance changed?
No appearances changes
How has your Betta’s behavior changed?
He’s swimming up and down erratically and in a corkscrew motion. He also looks like he’s swimming into the tank constantly... He’s resting himself in a upside down manner on top of the heater in his tank. I can’t really show this in picture and I don’t know how to upload the video on here....
Is your Betta still eating?
Have you started treating your Betta? If so, how?
Not yet. I did change the water today, though

Hi! I'm sorry you haven't gotten a reply yet - how is your boy now? I would keep doing 25-50 % water changes daily.

I'm sorry to hear about Pudge. Have you dont any recent changes to your tank recently? Like add a new filter or decor?

More frequent water changes is good, especially if you're suspecting ammonia. You can find some test strips at your local pet store, even walmart carries them. That can at least help solve that mystery.

My guy did the crazy swimming thing and I did a 100% water change and used prime with stress coat+ and darkened his tank. Hes been much calmer since.
