I think my fish has swim bladder...I recently noticed that his belly is swollen and that he tilts to the side and floats to the top. I heard about this and I am a new fish owner..I know I am not over feeding him but I believe its the blood worms that I feed him.

Are the only treatments available for the fish are pea eating and Epsom salt? Can someone explain any tips? I know that when I saw this just now, I will 1st start to fast him. His tank is currently at 80 degrees and I will monitor the temp.

Thanks!

He is,
1.5 gallon tank.
Has a whisper filter
He has a heater
Tank temp is 80 degrees
He only eats freeze dried bloodworms and nothing else..hes extremely picky.
Water parameters are normal and I do a 100% change every week and a 10% change every 2-3 days.
I feed him once every 2-3 days and its only 1 blood worm.

Earlier today i saw he is not floating on his side anymore but is belly is still swollen.

It would help everyone here help you best if you copied and pasted the form and filled it out fully.

Are you soaking the blood worms before you feed him? Freeze dried foods can cause SBD.

Also, I wouldn't think that's enough food. All betta fish will eat other foods eventually, you just have to stop offering them "candy." I have a female that was addicted to freeze dried blood worms when I got her. I soaked tiny pellets in garlic and completely cut her off from blood worms. It only took a couple of days before she switched over to pellets and now eats with issues at all.

That is nowhere near enough food, Your fish is starving.
You need to get him onto pellets I feed my fish Atisons Betta Pro and he gets 4 to 5 pellets 2 times a day.
But see I have been told otherwise..the previous fish i would feed him just like how you are doing but i was told to feed them bout the size of their eye..

Atisons pellets are small thats why I feed him 4 or 5.

New Life Pellets are much bigger so I would feed him less, It also depends on how active the fish is.

My Betta trying to figure out what to do with the New Life Spectrum pellet.

He looks very beautiful with his colors..but my betta fish doesnt like any pellets I offer. He will place them in his mouth and then spit it back up. I have seem him eat daphnia. I offered that to him too...I have two kinds of pellets, the Omega One and the other being a betta color enhancer pellet. Both are super small. My 1st fish I would feed him two pellets..but this one just won't eat any pellets..:(.

His tummy is still swollen but not as bad as yesterday..so I believe it is going down.
