Do you just really want an aquarium kit? Or do you have a tiny space to put it on?
I only ask because I am new to bettas by a few months but I really am happy with my regular 5.5 gallon glass tank that was $15 at Petco this week. However, it does not come with anything, I had an Azoo filter with bio media added and I bought a teeny Marina submersible spotlight suction-cup light for it. You wouldn't have to buy a light unless you are trying to grow plants, and maybe you could find a cheap filter somewhere.
Also . . I saw a 2.5 gallon glass tank at Petsmart but it wasn't even a dollar cheaper than the 5.5 gallon at Petco. Basically if you have $15 you can get a 2.5 or 5.5 gallon if you go to the right place.
. .. . and supposedly the rectangular tanks are preferable for bettas, they like having horizontal swim space and that tank you showed is a lot of "upward" space. Plus remember that you can put more decor on the floor of a rectangular/wide tank than one that just goes upward, especially a 1 gallon.
