as long as the cube is unopened it's totally safe to refreeze them by putting them back in the freezer. For the unfinished cube, I put it in a separate zip lock bag.

 

My betta "bible" Aquarium Care of Bettas advises against feeding thawed and refrozen foods. As one forum user pointed out to me, it's a matter of bacteria and the same reason you don't feed a person thawed and refrozen meat. Keep the food in the refrigerator for one day at the most. This is just a safety precaution so if you've already fed your betta the thawed and refrozen food, don't panic. Chances are he'll be fine.
