Me: "Man, this algae is getting crazy."
Wife: "Yeah, it is."
Me: "I think we should get a snail."
Wife: "I don't know. What if the fish tries to attack it?'
Me: "I don't think he will if it's not shaped like a fish and doesn't have bright colors."
Wife: "This fish attacks floating baby java ferns all of the time, though."
Me: "But the snail's not going to fly by him in a bright green flash."
Wife: "Hm...."

*one week later, after a trip to the LFS*

Wife: OMG LOOK AT HIS LITTLE MOUTH eating all the algae!
Me: :grin2:

Well, story time over. We now have a snail temporarily, but affectionately, named...Snail. Two minutes in and he'd already started eating algae off the sides of the tank. This tank's one of our older ones, established for well over a year by now, but stuffed with plants and hard to clean near the bottom. I hope he'll be a happy little bugger, he's certainly got enough food to last him <3

Update: the tank Lord of this snail, Eros (got him for my wife on Valentine's day in 2017), has officially found his tank mate and stared him down to make sure he wasn't another betta male with a VERY GOOD DISGUISE.

After a minute or so the tank Lord swam right past. Good boy <3

Here are some pics of the tank:

Ps, I know there's brown algae everywhere around the bottom. We didn't clean down there the last few times because we were already talking about getting a snail.

He has a lot of plants! Two years ago these were just 2 java ferns about 6 inches tall :O
