I don't know those pellets per say, but just try to spread the feelings out to 2 times a day. So maybe 4 pellets each time? My pellets are kind of big so I only feed 4-5 a day.

Me and most others feed twice daily. Drop in three pellets. If eats those, drop in another. Time him to see how many he can eat within two minutes. So if he eats four pellets in two minutes, feed him eight pellets daily.

Next time you buy food, consider Omega One, New Life Spectrum, Hikari, or Attinson's. Those are the best foods.

The two minutes rule isn't accurate. If a betta had the time they could eat 20!! lol

How much should I be feeding my betta and how often?

I'm using "Aqueon Betta Food" which are pellets but kind of small like poppy seeds. So far I've been feeding his once a day about eight of these. But I'm just worried about over/under feeding him.
I have the same food as you. My Betta gets 2 pellets a day in the morning or you could do 1 pellet in the morning 1 pellet at night. I fast my Betta once a week to prevent blockage.

I don't think so. I have poppy-seed-sized pellets and I feed each of my fish three in the morning and three at night, and my girls also snack on all the community fish food. None of them are constipated or even fat.

Feed a few pellets at a time and keep feeding till his belly is rounded. NOT he looks like swallowed a marble but a gentle roundness. My metallics are bottomless pits and take more food than my reds for the same size and age fish. so let your fish give you the answer to this one.

I don't know the size of the pellets, but with most brands you feed 2 or 3 twice a day. Check the first ingredient on the ingredient list. Is it something like wheat flour or it is salmon or haddock?

Wait so I'm feeding my betta way too much then?
As you can see from this thread, there are a lot of differing opinions on what and how much to feed and when. I'd suggest you just go by personal preference and what your fish prefer.

It's a good idea to let the fish decide, by how many pellets they will eat in two or three minutes. Mine will each take 4-5 pellets in that time. Use a turkey baster to remove any excess immediately. I feed mine twice a day, morning and night.

I also like to vary their diet. Sometimes they get frozen brine shrimp as a treat. Or I give them some betta flakes. Again, no more than what they will eat in 2-3 mins.

I fast my fish for 2 days per week because I go away on weekends. It doesn't seem to do them any harm and they have never had any blockages. Most people (from what I read here) just fast them for one day.

The first couple of days I fed about eight of these once a day and he ate most of them but 4 twice a day might be right. I've never seen fish that take three minutes to eat, they just eat as fast as they can. And I'm not too worried about the leftovers as I'll be getting some ghost shrimp soon and they'll be the clean up crew.

The first ingriediant is fish meal (ground fish) MaisyDawgThirteen.

Again, as personal preference, (more to the fish) I tried the average size betta pellets, they expand..and sink..uggh.. and he spit them right out..but with the Haikaari gold, micro..I watch what sammy eats, and they dont sink..they float so he sees, em, dont have to chase for them,(taking the guesswork out for me) did he get that one, will he find it... and now I put em on on my finger and he jumps for them..it's very cool and I know exactly what he is taking in..:)
