I have a 2 gallon tank that came with an under gravel filtration system. Are those ok to use with Bettas or does that make a current in the water that the Bettas don't like? Would it be better to just take the under gravel filter out and just do larger water changes? On the box it says to cycle the tank first, but I didn't think you could do that in such a small tank.

I'm kinda lost on this and I'm not sure what to do to make my Betta the most comfortable.

You can't cycle that tank. Generally, manufacturers have this crazy idea that the cycle is just leaving your tank for 24 hours, so maybe that's what they mean. Either way, ignore them.

Personally, I hate undergravel filters because they are a pain to clean and the like. I would not use it. If you want a filter (not necessary, but I prefer having one), look into a cheap sponge filter powered by an air pump. They are adjustable and create very little current, and they don't take up much room. :)
