I have just realized that my mini green killing machine UV filter has been sending out an electrical current in my communal tank, I dont know how long it had been like that but found out today when I got a small shock from it.

need some advice on how I can insulate it.

Take it out. It is probably broken... I'm not sure what else to tell you on this one.

it works, but sends out current.

looks like I am going to have to fix it, as these things are very expensive and amazon and ebay dont ship to Portugal.

if they do its too expensive.

so I have just re-done any connections and cleaned the filter and tested for shock and found that its when I turn on the UV function on the filter you get a small shock in the water , as I have tested it without the UV function switched on and there was no shock, so I will just have to use the filter without the UV
