When doing partial water changes, should I add enough purifier for the whole tank or just the amount I changed?

Only for the amount you add. This needs to be done PRIOR to adding the water to the tank.

Conditioner stops being effective after a few days, so add for the whole tank, even for partial changes.

Tracy's right. Put it in your refill water before filling your tank.

Are you saying that chlorine, etc, reappears in previously treated water??

You guys are way too smart! Now I have something else to worry about, lol!! So, to clarify, any time you do a water change, you put enough conditioner for the entire tank into the jug that you are using? What if you are topping off to compensate for evaporation? Same thing? Can you overdose a tank? What conditioner do you recommend? I have Prime... is that good?
