What I need for my 10 Gallon Tank

Hello there, I'm new to this page but I heard this page can really inform and help new people like me. I currently have two betta's (Crowntail and Male), My Crowntail is living happy in its 2.5 Gallon Tank. But I need help with my 10 gallon tank for my Male Betta. I got a "Aqueon Deluxe Kit Aquarium 10". I need advice on what filter I should get for my him. My old filter looked like particles were flying in and out the water, and the current was to strong for him >_< Plus I need help with how to take care of him better :] PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

And, male betta? Clarify. Since the Crowntail is also a male Betta, what's the male Betta then?

Also, I'm hoping you have a heater for the 10 gallon already. Decorations are nicec, fake plants, live plants, etc.

A variety of food, flakes, pellets, frozen bloodworms, etc. Will also be nice for caring your Betta.

Thanks for the reply, well when I went to Petsmart all they told me was it's a male betta, im currently trying to find out right now. I have a 50 Watt Heater that is currently having my tank at 78 degrees. I have hiding spots for both betta's. The food I use for them are

-Top Fin Freeze-Dried Bloodworms
-Aqueon Betta Food (Pellets)

I'm trying to get "Hikari Betta Bio-Gold" for them .

Okay so it is a blue veiltail, very common Betta that is not very expensive. A picture would help.

For your tank baffle it will help a whole lot. For your food instead of getting Hikari, which changed their ingredients, try to get Omega One or New Life Spectrum Betta pellets. Those two are the best out there, they are a tad more expensive but will almost last the entire lives of your bettas. I have 5 as of now and I still haven't made a dent in the food.

That is called a veil tail or VT here on the forum. As for general care, bettas don't like strong currents and need to breath air so make sure that they have a good way of reaching the surface.

Real plants make a for a good looking tank and it has many benefits of helping the water. Here is where you can learn about taking care of easy to care for plants.

Also bettas like to have places to hide so be sure they have a cave where they can hide if they don't feel like being seen.

I've used plastic plants for 2 years and just started doing real plants, I will never go back. Real plants are so easy to care for and make the tank much more beautiful.

Real plants need extra care though.

The correct lighting is key for aquatic plants, fertilizers are also sometimes needed depending on what plant you get, and CO2, well that's a little bonus for the plants if you really want to add that in.

Substrate also counts, whether you go for a NPT, or just using plain gravel/sand.

my fake plants look real and my fish use them.
