White betta breeding.

I have a male white betta that I want to breed, I want most of the spawn to be white. I know that white bettas came from the blue gene so should I buy a blue betta for him?

If you want white then you should find a white girl, breeding to blue will get you a whole mess of different fry, blue I believe will be dominant over the white...I think, don't quote me but I'm pretty sure. So if you want to stick to pure white, get a white female, no sense in getting a blue unless you want to experiment.
+1 lil
opaque white is steel blue based. It started with cambodian and steel blue cross.
White is quite recessive and is easily lost (clean white). Breeding to any color will ruin the "white"
I can't get white since from where I'm from white bettas are rare. I just want to breed with something a bit more dominant than white so I can get some white bettas.
Then I can breed those white bettas with their other white siblings/father.
Can you get a grizzle, preferably one with more white than irid. Then breed F1 back to white parents abd keep breeding the whites until you get clean white.
white is reasesive and blue is dominant so to breed a white betta it's important to have both white to receive a almost white spawn
