Hi. I bought a betta fish for my two year old about 3 weeks ago. He's changed a lot in color. Ill attempt to attach a picture. I'm a little worried though because his front fin tips are white and his head turned black. He was a greenish color when we first got him. I have no idea what his tank size is in gallons. It's a med size critter cage. I don't know if he's sick. In the picture the top is him now and the bottom is him when we first got him.

The top photo looks great! He's a beautiful blue color. The dark head is normal.

Often, they're pale at the store. When you get them home, and put them into clean warm water, and feed them good food, they usually "color up," meaning that their true colors come out.

The white growth on his pectoral (front) fins is also good! It indicates new growth. This is another sign that he's healthy and still growing.

He looks great to me. The fish in the top photo looks much healthier to me than the one in the bottom photo. So you're doing a great job with him. :)

My little dude Ender is the same. Bright blue with a black head. This seems fairly common. He also has a bit of bright red/purple fading into white on the ends of his pelvic fins if you catch the light right. Your fish looks great!
