Has anyone ever had white fuzzy water develop on the bottom of their tanks?? The only thing that had changed from before was that I had put a new live plant in... several days before.. could that have caused it?

Usually decaying organic matter Turning into fungus. This white fungus is also common is new pieces of wood in the tank. The fungus is completely harmless and can be wiped off of the area that of is occupying, the only thing about it is that it is very unsightly to look at

thanks... yes it was very "ugly" , but good to know that it wasn't harmful to my little Ember. He is at school and the kids would not have been happy about that.... They were so excited the other morning when he jumped up out of the water and nipped their finger in anticipation of the morning feed....:-D
