So a little while back I moved Roy into a 2.5 gallon tank and put Nemo into the bigger 5 gallon tank since he is nearly 3 inches. Anyway when I moved Roy his tail kinda tore a bit from the stress of it all. I didn't think anything of it until I noticed this morning that his fins were tearing. He does have a fake plant in his tank. Maybe that's what is tearing his fins? Roy is the only fish in the tank. Any ideas why his fins are tearing? Anyways I could help heal his fins would be nice too. Thanks! :) p.s both my betas are vt's.

Could be the fake plants, get some knee high hose (cheap in plastic containers at WalMart) and run them over the plants to see if they snag, if they do it's the plants. Even if not I'd remove them until it heals.
Another thing is glass reflection causing tail biting which makes uneven back fins kind of like a tear. Recent post I did on it & solution:

Then there is tail rot. Sticky at the top describes each & how to treat them: http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=73332
For torn fins from deco's I'm guessing it's treated like Fin Biting to help them heal and prevent infection.
