Anubias Nana is a nice small plant that does well in low light tanks. I love the look of it.

 

if you have good lightig I love the species that turn red as they grow near the light source. rotala rotundifolia and ludwigia repens are great examples of this ^_^

 

crypts do great in low light, and all(to my knowledge) anubias do awesome.

I have a low light(more like bad quality light lol) tank and my 3 broad leaf anubias thrive, they grow fast and I'm getting my second flower.

 

I just got a 10 gallon tank from Petco with really crappy small LED lights, and I have an Anubias Nana that is thriving on a piece of driftwood. I also have a few Java Ferns which are also doing really well. All this in a gravel substrate tank. I also have a marimo ball, but im not sure that counts ha ha ha. I know its not a whole lot of options, but the tank looks great with them and theyre fun to watch grow, especially the Anubias.

 

giant hygrophilia takes over the tank after a while and is a nitrite buster.

How do you like your Eco Complete?

 

I actually love it. Before this I just had plan rocks in it and I much prefer the look and it seems to be helping the plants more. I still ad fert tabs and most of my plants are doing great. The water sprite is the only thing I have had an issue with it and it was doing great till I moved it from a 5 gallon to the ten gallon. (same substrate in both)


Also thanks guys! I looked into the diff kinds of anubias and crypts and ended up getting to more of each. Hopefully they fair better than my water sprite did. I still wish I knew what went wrong with it.

 

Banana plant. The best part, mine does better without high nitrates. It was in my goldie tank with high nitrates (gone down now) and started to die, put it in a tank with low nitrates and it thrives.
