But I would go with the tank and Petsmart, just so you save a life. Plus, it is cheaper.

I am all for getting more bang for my buck. My vote is PetSmart where you can get a fish and a tank

 

I vote Aquabid where you can get quality

 

It depends on what your intentions are, I guess, what's more important to you.

Is this more of a rescue/feel good effort? Go to Petsmart.

Do you want a more unique and interesting-looking fish? Save up for aquabid quality.

I don't generally buy from the major petstore chains anymore. I used to, but then realized that my purchase may save that individual life, but more fish are put into the same conditions to fill that empty space on the shelf.

I'd save my money and get a high quality fish. You can also look into US breeders and shops if you don't want to import.

 

You could try ebay. One member has gotten multiple fish from a seller, aquaworld68 who has fish from $17-45 with free shipping that are high quality in my opinion and you don't have to worry about transhippers and may still have money for a tank, just depends on which fish you choose. Petsmart. I got a beautiful purple butterfly HM from petsmart.

Only because I really want to get a fish from Aquabid haha. Plus they have WAY more unique fish!

What I would do, get a fish from Aquabid and use a Critter Keeper until you can afford another tank. Or even get a used tank! I got my 15 gallon for 10$ used.

I agree!!! I never ever buy from a store that sells puppies or kittens which is why i LOVE petsmart bec the cats they have there are visiting from local rescues so that people who would least likely seek a rescue can adopt a cat

 

i say petsmart bec its cheaper... plus the aquabid bettas are gonna get good care... petsmart bettas will most likely die in their cup... atleast 20% of their shipment must die... buying on aquabid is sooooo expensive bec of shipment
