Are they compatible tank mates????

I was wandering if Killifish are compatible fish mates with bettas? :hmm:

Maybe with females, but they are too colorful to be housed with males IMO.

it depends on the type you get. there are tons of different killifish out there

I don't think so, they're like really bright and colorful PKs. Aren't they fragile and require low pH? Bettas like low pH, but they can adapt.

Well, due to some happenings at a recent auction, I've ended up with two in my Betta tank for a week or so now. They seem to be getting along ok, but Walter (my betta) flares at the bigger one every once in a while. The ones I have are not very colorful, so I would be very hesitant about putting any bright ones in with a betta. I don't plan on keeping the ones I have in there any longer than necessary.

Killifish don't make very good tankmates for bettas. Depending on the species, killifish can be aggressive or shy, and their bright colours and very erratic swimming patterns would stress out a betta.

I keep both and would never house them together.
