So I have an old baby biorb in my basement back at home that I want to bring back to college with me. It used to house some guppies and mollies. Does anyone have their betta in a biorb? My only concern is because of the shape that it wouldn't provide a lot of surface area of the water, but it has a bubbling tube filter in the center. I always liked the look of it and I hate letting a nice tank just sit and not be used!

As long as the fish has some access to the surface it should be fine, I've never had a fish in a Biorb brand tank specifically, but I've had bettas in similar tanks and they've been fine. As long as they have access to oxygen they'll be fine.
I used to have a Betta in a 30l Biorb. I filled it with 26l so surface area was wider that if it had been filled with 30l. I was concerned about the rough substrate so put pebbles and moss balls in also I slowed down the flow by placing a valve on the air tube and put a piece of filter sponge in the top of the bubble tube so Betta couldn`t get stuck in it. None of the `alterations` I made affected the filter, I put it through a fish less cycle and never had any cycle problems.
Alright, thanks everyone for the input! I think I'll definitely clean it out. Any recommendations for what to clean it with? It's been rinsed out since I had fish in it and I know not to use soap but I just want to make sure theres no dust or leftover old fish tank residue.
