For a few weeks I have been attempting to breed my female (Gee) in hopes of success of fry, I have three males to choose from, Bluetail, Arrow and Fernando.
1. Bluetail, seems to get along with her. They swim and even embraced a few times; however no eggs were laid. After a while they stopped acknowledging each other and were content in the tank.
2. Arrow is quiet aggressive. He has almost completely torn her back fins apart. However she showed no signs of distress (horizontal black lines). He embraced with her a couple of times, but then Arrow seemed uninterested and obsessing over his nest. Finally she hid and would not go back to him.
3. Fernando is a smaller male who seemed to get picked on by my female! So this resulted in me taking her out and not breeding them.
What should I do? I feel like Arrow is my best contestant but he is more aggressive to her and I’m afraid they just won’t breed. Bluetail is calm, but they lost interest. Any thoughts?
The tank meets its requirements, but I have not used a almond leaf yet.. would that improve the issue? I have attempted to breed each one with a week 1/2.
