Guppy's eyes bleeding.

I cant get pictures up, at least not yet, but my female cobra guppy, Rapunzel, has blood in her eyes. it almost looks like bloody tears welling up in her eyes. Other than her bent spine she is perfectly healthy, she swims and eats and her behaviour hasn't changed.

I recently added hornwort, could she have swam through that and injured her eyes? I really can't think of anything else.

My ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 10-15 ppm, and my test doesn't do gh or kh. I also have other fish in the tank (which is 20 gallons) but she's usually the one bullying, not bullied. plus, there's no fin damage (on anyone) that i can tell.

Any ideas? and how should i treat this? just let her be?

I wouldn't dose the tank with your snails. If you don't see any improvement, then maybe you can move her to a quarantine tank setting, and dose her for a few days with aquarium salt and maybe some type of antibiotic, if needed. You can use anything for a quarantine tank - a plastic tote would work, or any type of clean container. You can add a small air stone, and keep her in a warm spot so her temp is right, or even add a very small, cheap heater.

Hi,

I don't keep guppies, but my suggestion would be to add a bit of aquarium salt if you don't have any invertebrates in the tank, and to do some small frequent water changes every other day for a couple of weeks to help prevent infection.

I know this isn't much, but maybe it helps a little....

Hope she gets better! :)
