How tall is too tall?

I purchased a 26 gallon tall bowfront aquarium a couple months ago, and was wondering if it'd be too tall to house a sorority? I was initially making plans to make it into a community tank but I would rather move my sorority into it and maybe add a few more to it...currently I have 5 females in a 10 gallon

I can't find my tape measure at the moment and can't remember the exact height on it but will post later.

How tall is too tall?
If it is too tall would you suggest making the water level lower, or just making it into a community tank for some other type of fish?

The reason I want to move them is so I can divide the tank and move some of my males into it and out of their 1.5 gallon bowls.

My tank is 20" tall and bettas have done fine in it.

Let me amend that - female bettas have done fine in it - I've never kept a male in there.

I have had a DT male who lived in a 46cm tall tank so 18 inches tall, and he had no issues with getting up to the surface to breathe.

If you are worried, you could add some floating plants such as water sprite or hornwort for fish to rest in, and give them easier access to the surface.

My girls are happy in their tank. It's either 18 or 20" tall. I have to keep it down a good two inches cause they are frenzied critters are food time.

They have no trouble. IT feels like they live at the surface. But they will often swim up from other parts of the tank.

Thanks for the help. I've never kept male or female in a tank taller than whatever a 10 gallon is so I was a little worried, As soon as the plants i've got ordered come in though there will be plenty of floaters and tall rooted plants for them to rest on, I just didn't want it to be too much for them to be swimming that far to breathe every time they needed to.

I'm very happy that I've got the okay! Been eyeing a couple girls on AB for a few days! I guess I'll put my order in now
