Nice betta! Show or just pet?

 

I used to breed bettas, but I no longer have the interest in such a time-intensive hobby. I still appreciate a show-quality betta, but just as a pet.

I got him online from Tropicflow (California).

 

That is one of the prettiest bettas I have ever seen in my life!!! Just curious, how much was he? And what kind?

 

I guess the best description would be a multicolored metallic halfmoon plakat betta. Multicolor bettas are typically called "koi" but this particular breeder didn't describe him as such. Most of the fancy names you hear to describe different types are very arbitrary. I overpaid, including overnight shipping, he cost over $100.

 

Wow! He sure is absolutely gorgeous! Makes mine look boring lol! I was sorta thinking halfmoon placate, but I'm not too good at guessing all the different types lol. What did you name him?
