Hey :)
I was looking at the Petco "Pet Keeper" online and I have a couple questions...
If you own/owned it, is it a good betta home? Is it sturdy?
And I'm also wondering about the prices. On the Petco website (http://www.petco.com/product/12031/Petco-Pet-Keeper-for-Aquarium-Fish.aspx) the prices are pretty cheap, so I'm just wondering if they're the same in the store? I can't get to Petco right now to check it out, so if anyone knows and can answer that would be great :D
Thanks!

The prices in store are usually within 5bucks of the online price, and if you show the cashier it's cheaper online they SHOULD reduce the price
They're the same as kritter keepers, sturdy enough for a small hob and you can put in a heater and stones and all, the large is a good betta home just make sure to be careful not to scratch the acrylic (some people complain about scratching up the acrylic tanks as opposed to glass, I've only ever had 1 scratch in 3 acrylic tanks, just be careful.

In the past, I have used Pet Keepers for bettas. They are pretty sturdy, but, as previously mentioned, definitely scratch easily. I wouldn't recommend using anything smaller than the "large" size for a betta, though.

Honestly, knowing what I know now, I would skip the Pet Keeper and instead buy an open-top, glass 5.5 gallon aquarium at PetCo. The price for the 5.5 gallon and the large Pet Keeper are almost exactly the same, but (imo) the larger glass tank is a far superior choice for a betta. You can use cling wrap for a lid until you can buy a permanent one (full hood or glass canopy). The same filter and heater would work in either tank, so why not go for the bigger one?
